Positive Discipline Association

Scholarship Policy

The Positive Discipline Association will make available one full scholarship or multiple partial scholarships for each 2-day workshop listed on our website.

Scholarships are offered to make Positive Discipline Association workshops available to an economically and socially diverse demographic.

Scholarship applicants must:

1.  Write a letter indicating:

  • The specific workshop (location and dates) the applicant would like to attend.

  • Their commitment to attend the complete workshop.

  • Why he or she is interested in attending the workshop.

  • Why he or she needs a scholarship.

  • How much of the workshop fee he or she is able to pay.

  • How the participant plans to use the information and skills learned in the workshop.

2.  Email the letter to the Positive Discipline Association Executive Director, Kathy Rinehart, at posdis@satx.rr.com.

The Scholarship Committee will review each application. Scholarships will be awarded based on timing of application, financial need of applicant, availability of scholarship funds, and the intended use of the information and skills learned in the workshop.

All applications received 30 days prior to the start of the workshop will be considered together. The first scholarship awards for a workshop will be granted 28 days prior to the workshop. Any applications received after this award cycle will be granted based on need and remaining fund availability.

All applicants will be notified by the PDA Executive Director as to their scholarship status as soon as scholarships are granted.

The Positive Discipline Association does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age or disability.
